Now that the colder weather is here (well, not actually... there's no snow where I live yet which is very unusual!), it's a perfect time of year to be cozying up inside and taking time for ourselves. I tend to find myself filling all of my spare time with more things to do, which makes me really tired and stressed, and I know that I'm not alone with this. That's why I think it's important to take time to wind down and relax over the Holidays!

With the Holiday season upon us, festive series like "vlogmas" are becoming more and more popular in the internet world. Personally, I'm still really busy with school and extracurriculars for a couple more weeks, so I definitely don't watch these all every day, but it's really fun to have some festive videos to watch in my down time! I've compiled a list of my go-to series this month.

I haven't blogged in a while so I haven't shown it here, but when Autumn arrived I decorated my room seasonally and made it super cozy. Now that it's officially December, I'll be changing the decor up again for the Holidays. I'm really sad to put away some of my fall decor because I love it so much, but I'm also so excited for the Holidays! Before I switch things up, I thought I'd finally share my Fall room :)
I wrapped a garland of fake Autumn leaves around my fairy lanterns to match the season. I really love how this turned out!

This week, most of us Canadians had a long weekend to celebrate Thanksgiving; on Saturday, my family took full advantage of this and went apple picking at a place called Mountain Orchards! I first heard about this fun, autumnal experience last year from a few friends and teachers, and I'd wanted to go ever since... so this year, I made sure that we went to the orchard to pick some apples.

I never thought it would happen, but I've recently been absolutely obsessed with a blush! This is probably because it's a pigmented shade of bright, natural pink, and it's perfect for everyday use. It only takes an extra 2 seconds in the morning, because it's very easy to keep it looking natural and not clown-like. The blush I'm talking about is Clinique's cheek pop in "ginger pop". I've been wearing this blush almost every day since I bought it on my birthday (read about that and also see a swatch here) and I love applying it with the RealTechniques blush brush. Not only are the shade and quality of the product unbeatable, the product is shaped as a daisy which I find beautiful... and it's perfect for photos, which is a blogger's dream! (Both the product itself and any look using the blush!) It just adds a lovely pop of colour to an otherwise plain look, but it's so subtle that you wouldn't know it was there. I think that this shade would compliment almost any skin tone because it's just so natural and pink, so if you're on the lookout for an amazing high-end blush, this should definitely be on your list!
Have you been loving any blushes recently? I'd love to hear your suggestions :)

|Beautiful Church in Old Montreal|
Last week, my family drove to Montreal, Quebec and spent two days there. we explored a small part of the city, did some shopping and ate some amazing food so I wanted to share it on my blog today!

Last month I shared my favourite summer lip products of 2015, but I've recently been using three more products that I just had to share... they're all amazing pink lip colours! As you may have realized, I'm a little obsessed with lip products, so I thought it was time to finally share these little treasures :)

I just wanted to write a super quick post today to share something little but exciting—I hit pan for the first time ever! I always see bloggers and vloggers talking about how exciting it is to "hit pan" on products, but I've never related because I've always been someone who uses products very sparingly. (I've finished up non-pan products before; they're in this empties post) The pan at the bottom of my Rimmel Stay Matte powder is now showing, and I'm so excited because this is a product that I love a lot, and this really proves to myself how often I use it! :)
Sorry that this post was absolutely pointless, but I was excited :) Stay tuned for more interesting posts this weekend!

Hello everyone! Today I just wanted to share some of my recent stationery purchases in a very quick post. As you probably know, I'm very obsessed with paper crafting and all things cute (ahem, my planner)... so I love a good stationery haul!

|Don't mind my flip flops, haha—my favourite pair of sandals broke! |
(This was sadly long overdue as I kept wearing them everyday for three summers!)
I feel like every time a new season comes around, I find a few staple clothing items that are perfect for me, and I tend to wear them a lot during that season. This summer, I've found quite a few of these staple pieces, and this sun dress from American Eagle is definitely one of them! (This romper from Garage is yet another) The dress is a shift dress, so it's super flowy and comfortable to wear for almost any occasion. I also love the caged straps... it adds a cool design element to the otherwise shapeless dress.

I turned 16 almost 2 weeks ago now, and my family and friends gave me a bunch of amazing gifts for my birthday, so I really wanted to share them on my blog. (better a little late than never, right?) If you're new to my blog, you can find a post about the amazing day, and some shopping that I did here.

I can finally say that I'm 16 years old: I had my birthday last week! My family made the day amazing, so I thought I'd share how it went. Get ready for a "What I Got for my Birthday" post soon, too! (I tried putting it all in one post, but it got wayyy too long because I ramble)

This summer scentbook has been a long time coming, and I'm so excited to finally share it with you! I first came up with the idea almost a year ago, and created my Autumn Scentbook 2014. (Props to last year's self for coming up with original content!) My scentbooks come about when I go around to all sorts of stores and find my favourite scents for the season to share with the internet. I've been collecting my top summer 2015 scents for quite a few months now, so I'm so excited to be posting my second scentbook!
Note: This time around, I included a whole bunch of body products in addition to candles, because it's pretty hot to be burning candles in the summer!

Today I'm just writing a quick blog post to share how to make this cute, layered card for any occasion. It's a quick DIY and it's perfect for papercrafters of any level! It was actually my little sister's birthday really recently (blog post about her day here) and I made her a birthday card. I loved it so much that I made a variation so that I could have another card, and also make a quick how-to post. So here it is!

Note: This post is a bit late, but I was having trouble with uploading the photos :p
Last week, my sister turned thirteen years old—she's officially a (annoying) teenager! My family spent a lot of the day in a town called Almonte that we love... it's about an hour long drive from Ottawa (Ontario), or 2 hours from Kingston (Ontario). It's a nice little place to go for day trips and things, so I decided to take some nice photos while we were there, and I also included some other photos of my sister's birthday in general. Enjoy!

It's really difficult to not read about the Bioderma Micellar Water when browsing through beauty blogs these days... it's definitely a cult favourite for removing makeup, and it seems like every blogger is raving about it. My mom purchased this micellar water a while ago because she's getting into makeup again, and so I thought I'd try some out to see it it's really worth the hype!

As the weather gets hotter and hotter outside, the last thing I want to deal with is bulky clothes, or the opposite: uncomfortable tank tops and too-short shorts. I absolutely love wearing rompers (playsuits) in the summertime because they can look very stylish and put together without having much effort or thought needed in the morning. All I do is throw this on in the morning: it's quick, easy, and this one in particular looks like a summer dress without the added worry of skirt-mishaps. I got it at Garage, and it's definitely one of my favourite summer clothing items this year!

Now that it's summer break, I have a lot more time on my hands to enjoy my hobbies. I absolutely love cooking and baking, but I never have time during the school year! I actually usually can't cook or bake in the summer, either, because we don't have air conditioning, so our house is uncomfortably hot. Because of this, the stove and oven are pretty much off-limits because they generate heat. However, this past week was pretty cool, so I ended up cooking three times, baking once, and even ate out once! I decided to document these yummy foods, and put them into a post. Enjoy!

I noticed a few hours ago that I started this blog exactly a year ago today! This just a quick post to say thank you... Thank you to all of the amazing bloggers out there, as well as my followers who inspire me to create better content; thank you to my friends and family who have gotten excited when I showed them my online space; and most of all, thank you so much to you: everyone who has taken time to read my posts, or even comment!
The past year with this blog has been amazing, and I hope that the next year will be even better! x

Overnight oats are an internet sensation right now, and it's for a good reason! They take only minutes to make so they save a lot of time in busy mornings, they're really healthy, and they taste delicious if they're made correctly! I loved making these on school nights, because it saved a ton of time in the morning... but now that school's over, I've still been making them a lot!
They're also super healthy compared to most other breakfasts: the oats, chia seeds, bananas and berries are full of healthy fibre; chia seeds also contain a lot of healthy omega-3 fats, and the soy milk has a lot of calcium and vitamin D. The breakfast looks small, but it's super filling, and it's a great energy boost to kickstart your day! Here's my all time favourite recipe that I decided on through experimenting. Enjoy!

Now that we're a little bit into summer, I can finally start writing posts about some of my favourite things for the season! Today, I want to share 3 amazing lip products for the summer: a tinted balm, a lipstick and a gloss. I've been loving all of them recently and I would definitely recommend them all!

If you don't follow me on Instagram, you probably won't know that I'm a complete stationery nerd. I just love colourful pens and paper, washi tape, stickers and everything in between. I have an obsession with planners (even though I have trouble keeping up with them!) because they're super functional, yet have so much opportunity to decorate with photos and stationery. I recently purchased the Happy Planner by Me and My Big Ideas, and I wanted to share a review of my first impressions on the planner before I start using it. Stay tuned for posts about my planner while in use in the future!
*Note each design of the happy planner comes with a slightly different layout, so check out the company's website to find your favourite! I can only show the layout of the design that I have.*

When you're on any trip, it's important to find delicious food so that you can eat yummy stuff every day, and so that you can try the best of what the area has to offer. Here's a compilation of the best places that my family ate our meals at in Quebec city. Enjoy!
Note: every restaurant or bakery that we visited had amazing staff, and I noticed that they were all decorated really nicely... they all had their own unique atmospheres and decor :)

The last Quebec post will be up soon, I'm just in finals week so I'm using scheduled posts for now :)
My dietitian recently told me to eliminate dairy in my diet for a while to try and "fix" all sorts of issues. This isn't too hard most of the time, because there are so many milk substitutes available, etc.—the hard part of living lactose-free is really in the cooking and baking, and finding good desserts to eat.

Part 3 of my Quebec City trilogy will be up really soon, but this post is up in between! :)
You probably use apps every day... they can be fun, or useful, and they're so easy to access, especially when they're free! Here are my current five favourites that are free, and very useful for day to day life.

This is part two of my Quebec City trilogy... if you missed part one, be sure to check it out here :)
Quartier Petit Champlain is probably the most popular part of old Quebec. The whole area is a tourist attraction in itself, and it's not hard to see why. It's made up of small brick roads that are lined with quirky little boutiques and cafes, and there are street performers playing music here and there. The atmosphere is cheerful and inviting, and it's a great place to explore and take photos.

My family recently spent a little over a weekend in Quebec City. For those of you who don't know where that is, it's the capital of the French-Canadian province Quebec, and many call it the most European city in North America. There's a beautiful section of the city called "Vieux Québec" (old Quebec) where all of the buildings are very old, but really nicely kept. The area has a very european feel and is a great place to wander around... I decided to take a bunch of photos in and around old Quebec, and I've put together a trilogy of blog posts with these photos.

If you've still been checking in on my blog (thank you so much if you have been!), you've probably noticed that I haven't been posting here for almost two months! I don't even know exactly why, but I kind of just stopped blogging... at times I was actually really busy, but sometimes I just didn't feel like it (going to be honest, haha). I've started to really miss posting here, though, so I took to my journal to write out a long list of blog post ideas to get me motivated. I can't make any promises, but I'm really hoping to be posting a lot more here again—and the content will hopefully be awesome!
My first actual post in a while will be up soon, so stick around :)

Even though Canada isn't showing many signs of spring (it's 1ºc out and there's still snow everywhere), I'm really excited for the warmer weather! I've been shopping for spring clothes during the past month, because I grew out of a lot of clothes from previous years. I actually forgot to mention a couple of items, but I'll be mentioning them in posts when the spring weather finally comes around :) The end of this post has some little previews of what the clothes look like when I'm wearing them, but there will be a nicer outfit post coming up when spring arrives. Stay tuned!

A few weeks ago, I was in a chocolate shop called the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory with a friend, and she spotted some adorable chocolate coconut egg nests. We immediately asked the cashier for the price, wanting to buy the yummy-looking treats, but unfortunately they cost over $5 each (if I remember correctly). Now I'm sure that it would be worth the price, but we decided that we could figure out how to make our own, and have a fun baking day later that week!
My friend first suggested adding shredded coconut to melted chocolate and hardening it, but we quickly realized that that would form a very hard nest, and we wanted a softer nest. From there, we thought about what kind of a chocolate cookie is full of coconut. And then we realized... macaroons. (Not to be confused with french macarons... I made those here, though)
... And so we searched the internet for a good chocolate macaroon recipe, and got going!
(Sidenote: after making the nests, we went on Pinterest and saw similar cookies everywhere... turns out we're not as original as we thought :p)

Almost everyone who uses makeup owns them... makeup brushes. They're fluffy, convenient and come in a variety of shapes of sizes, and it's very important to wash them on a regular basis. In this post, I'm going to talk about how I wash my makeup brushes, and I'll also talk about some of my favourites. Enjoy :)

I sewed these handmade handwarmers a little while ago, and I thought I'd share the project with you! They're super quick and easy to make, and they're really useful for everyday use. Just microwave them to heat, and they'll stay warm for over half an hour... perfect for cold days, cramps or sore muscles, and even last-minute gifts!

Recently, two of my friends celebrated their sixteenth birthdays together, and had a little party. Those of us who were invited all pitched in some money for each girl's present. The two girls actually gave me permission to photograph the gifts before I wrapped them, so I thought I'd share the presents that we ended up getting, because I'm personally really happy with the quality of the presents we bought, and I know that my friends that we gave the presents to are very, very happy as well!

Whether you eat them for breakfast, brunch or dinner, pancakes are a delicious treat that are fun to make at home. I love making brunch foods, and I find it really interesting to see different countries' takes on pancakes, because they're enjoyed all over the world!

Anyone who's gone through a week of exams—whether they were really hard or not that bad—knows how stressful it can be. I actually have exams coming up in less than a month, but I'm not to the point of studying a whole lot or stressing out... yet. This kind of "pamper evening" seems to be really popular on the internet, but I personally have them once in a while to de-stress and relax, and also to remember to care for my personal well-being and my skin. If I ever get stressed out about something, I tend to neglect "pampering" myself, so it's nice to set aside an hour or two on a not-so-busy-night and just indulge in some relaxation time!

Canadian winters are really cold and snowy, so I'm usually wearing so many layers that it's hard to care much about fashion. Today, I was inside all day, but I felt like being a bit more dressed up than my pyjamas and robe, so I put together a simple outfit of the day :)
